I'm not real sure about the effectiveness of bilateral parking on speed, but at
this point, I'm willing to try anything reasonable.

I am a bit concerned about the idea of putting a crosswalk at the midpoint of
Walker. I'd want to see some stats or at least an example where this has
worked. The false sense of security that a crosswalk can give, especially with
youngsters, scares me. I mean, the fact that, legally, the motorist is at fault
would be small consolation in the event of an "incident". Motorists are
expecting pedestrians at intersections, along with the STOP sign....

Can anyone on this list come up with an example of a street that is
safe/unsafe with double-sided parking, and a mid-block crosswalk?
